Building technology is still in its infancy as an industry. For a company to emerge as the premier manufacturer and designer of smart building technologies it will require a strong and thoughtful focus on the products reliability and security. In order to understand that thoughtfulness the entire development process must be fully understood. Only a developer is in the position to fully understanding the needs of the industry and our customers. As a full industry spectrum development company, that is Flow's competitive advantage.
Recent digital technology is the best tool in history. Currently we spend more time making our software work for us. Thoughtfully written code can allow this tool to become even more efficient. To build a more sustainable world it is imperative we develop hardware and software that allows our infrastructure to be intuitive. Not only will it increase security and peace of mind for users but it will allow automation functionalities that reduce the buildings environmental impact, thus creating a more seamless, natural experience between users and the built environment.
Flow's Technology division is developing a building operating system for our mixed use project 1700 Germantown, anticipated to open to the public April 2020. The building is basically designed around an internet connected computer allowing automation functions that optimize the buildings mechanical components by connecting them to occupants access patterns. This installation allows us to launch a keyless access solution via biometric authentication. As this project progresses we will provide more detail of how this system will function, it's hardware components, and how it will help create a truly intuitive building.
